Stephenie Meyer is the Godfather
I kind of picture Stephenie Meyer as a female Marlon Brando. OK, maybe she doesn’t talk in that Don Corleone voice, but she kind of is the “Godfather,” at least when it comes to vampires and vampire romance. According to this MetroNews story, she receives the shooting schedule for the Twilight films – Summit is now filming “New Moon” – and then visits the set or location when her favorite scenes are being shot. “It’s really cool because she comes up here every once in a while for her favourite scenes. At the beginning of filming, she gives a list of her favourite scenes that she wants to be up here for. You’ve got the best person in the world to ask for advice. So if you have a question, you can just walk on over and ask her,” says Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob.
So I’m picturing Stephenie sort of holding court, actors flocking to her, creative types on the film asking her for advice. Bowing down before her – the legendary vampire chronicler.
New Moon Trailer
You know all those rumors that Taylor Lautner had added about 25 to 30 pounds of muscle for his role as Jacob the werewolf?
Well, they’re not rumors, people!
Whew, I’m still fanning myself after watching the first New Moon trailer, unveiled May 31 at the MTV Movie Awards. In it, we get to see Jasper lunge at Bella on her birthday because what could be more appealing to a vampire than an “ow, paper cut!”
But the best part is near the end when Jacob strides on screen for the first time in his new form and then – better yet – transforms into a wolf!
What do you think of the trailer?
New Moon Poster is Out!!
So everyone, what do we think of the New Moon poster?
I, for one, think it’s fantastic. I like that the color is different from Twilight’s poster. The New Moon poster has more earth tones, which fits with the rise of the werewolves in the storyline. Plus, I’m all into seeing Jacob smack dab between Edward and Bella.
‘Course, it’s no secret I’m on Team Jacob.
But what do you think?

A Whodunit: The Case of the New Moon Script
Memo to Anna Kendrick (aka Jessica) and Rob Pattinson:
You know, Anna and Rob, those scripts Summit gives you are kind of like gold. Or diamonds. Or lots and lots and lots of money. Meaning you want to keep them under lock and freaking key.
That means you don’t watch to ditch the shooting script for “New Moon” in a St. Louis garbage can. OK, fine, their fingerprints on the script. But the “New Moon” script was found by a beauty salon owner along with one for the Summit film “Memoirs,” which Rob may be starring in. Of course, they were found outside a St. Louis hotel where the cast for “Up in the Air” is staying and that cast includes Anna Kendrick who plays Jessica in the “Twilight” saga.
The beauty salon owner returned them the studio and got tickets for the premieres of both.
Who do you think did it?
The Volturi are Coming, the Volturi Are Coming
Watch out, Vancouver. The Canadian town known for being home to virtually every single film and TV production under the sun is hosting the Volturi now. The actors playing “vampire royalty” – ha, I scoff at that term – are ready to shoot their interior scenes, according to Hello Magazine. For those of you just getting to know the characters in Stephenie Meyer’s second book in the series, the Volturi are kind of like the mafia of the vampire world. They lay down the law, they uphold the law, they break the law. You know what I mean – they’re in charge and you don’t want to cross them.
Supposedly.
Because let me just use this opportunity to say something that has always struck me as a little odd about the Volturi. We don’t know how they’d really fare in a fight. Sure, they have Jane, played by Dakota Fanning in New Moon, who can inflict bone-crunching pain with her mind. But why are other vamps so scared of the Volturi? Because the coven has been around, skin getting all withery and immortal eyes all glassy, for 3,000 years? Hmm…I’m not convinced the Volturi are really so tough. We all know they never really put up a fight.

Talk about warm-blooded
As if you needed any more proof that Team Jacob is the right one to be on, then cast your eyes upon this photo of the wolf pack in the “New Moon,” the second film based on the “Twilight” series. Because somebody spent some time in the gym and it wasn’t the vamps. The quartet of young men (boy-men, really) who turn into wolves at will has been cast – with actor Taylor Lautner playing Jacob, the main wolf-boy – and in our estimation at the Bloodcast News Network, they look a bit better than the bloodsuckers do with their shirts off. Maybe that’s because they can take their shirts off in the sun. Rather than sparkling, they singe! That’s what animal magnetism is all about, as USA Today would say.

Once a Wolf, Now a Vampire: Michael Sheen Cast as Volturi
First we wanted to know if Taylor Lautner was big enough to be a wolf. Now, an actor best known for playing a wolf is going to play the wolf’s mortal enemy — a bloodsucker. “Underworld’s” Michael Sheen has been cast as one of the Volturi Vampires in Twilight’s sequel “New Moon,” according to the LA Times.
In New Moon, he’ll play Aro, the Volturi leader who can read your mind, including any thought you ever had in your whole life, just by touching you with his hand.
Of course he also played Tony Blair in “The Queen” too.
Michael Sheen — wolf, vampire or world leader? Which role suits him best?
