A Joss-less Buffy?
Say it ain’t so. The rumors are swirling that the possible “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” filmic remake could be done without the grand captain vampire creator. AKA Joss Whedon.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the original movie director Fran Rubel Kuzui and her husband, Kaz Kuzui, are on board and they’ve held onto the rights since they developed the script for the 1992 flick. Whedon them came on board in 1997 to executive produce the cult TV hit.
“The new ‘Buffy’ film, however, would have no connection to the TV series, nor would it use popular supporting characters like Angel, Willow, Xander or Spike,” the paper reported. The goal is to reboot the film, much as J.J. Abrams did with the recently released “Star Trek.”

And Now it’s Buffy Versus Bella!
First we had the Angel versus Edward debate. Now it’s all about Buffy versus Bella!
Roll up your sleeve, BCNN viewers/readers, because we’ve got a battle going on. In the Smith College student paper, the writer posits that “Twilight” vampires are merely eye candy, the whole story is just a rescue fantasy and at its core “Twilight” is mostly a polemic against premarital sex.
By contrast, Buffy’s relationships with her suitors – some vampires themselves – were always complex, scary and unresolved. Sort of like REAL teenage relationships!
Is Twilight merely a “lobotomized” version of the vampire myth? Is Bella a role model or not? Or is Buffy the one to emulate? “After all, Buffy the Vampire Slayer may have had premarital sex with the undead, but she still managed to go to college and save the world from the apocalypse,” the paper said.

Angel vs. Edward? Or maybe Jacob? Who do you Root For?
Let’s play a game. If you had to bet on who’d take who in an epic vampire showdown – would you wager on Angel or Edward? This one is so easy, people, and I know who I’d pick. But I’m not going to show my hand right away. I want to know what you think. Weigh in with a comment and then I’ll come back tomorrow and tell you who I’m rooting for.
Why do I ask, you wonder? Because “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” actress Michelle Trachtenberg opined on this very topic on MTV.com, saying it would be a battle to the “pointy teeth” between these two fictional vampires.
Anyway, Angel was the brooding, sexy, badass vampire with a soul in the Buffy series, and Edward is the glittery, controlling, annoying, petulant, whiny – oh sorry, I guess I just admitted who I want to win – in the “Twilight” books…
(PS: I was on Team Jacob ALL along. But that’s not really a surprise, is it?)
