Boston’s Vampire History

Posted on Monday, April 20th, 2009 at 9:31 am in Bloodcast News Network.

We need to talk about Boston. You know about the recent Boston Latin incident – in which a student at the prestigious Boston prep school was accused of being a bloodsucker, an accusation which drew the police to the school. Since then I have been deluged with emails asking for anything, some kind of information about Boston’s history . Now, while the Boston Latin incident is, sadly, more about bullying than vampires, we still need to address what might lurk in the rest of the city and even frankly, all of New England.

Because the birthplace of our nation has been a hotbed of vampiric activity for some time. Back in the late 1700s, for instance, New England had an outbreak of vampire activity. It was believed that an evil spirit – a vampire – was sucking the life out of humans. (That’s what vampires do, people. Don’t ever forget!). Later on, this outbreak was labeled by historians as simply tuberculosis, which could be a real convenient cover-up. (Maybe these historians were revisionist historians?) Because in the late 1800s, there were more incidents in the Boston area which involved exhuming the hearts of dead people, burning the hearts and feeding the ashes to dying people. Sort of raising the dead to feed the not-yet dead. This was a practice that also took place in Romania.

I think we’re all glad that there are now vaccines for TB, but let’s not let modern medicine distract us from the reality of Boston’s complicated vampire history. And now consider yourself informed.

Vampires at High School?

Hello Confessions fans!

I’m Chris, a staffer at Bloodcast News Network, the number one source for vampire news, information and insight. You probably don’t know me because I’m one of those behind-the-scenes people (they don’t let me
appear on camera), but I’m so excited to be a part of the world’s biggest Confessions fan site. I’ve been following Luci’s and Corbin’s blog for some time, sending them tidbits and tips that come my way. So
they invited me to be a part of their world with regular blog posts. That means I can share some of the developing stories I come across as part of my daily job sifting through the endless thicket of vampire
news.

For starters, “Twilight” might have started as an innocent forbidden love story, but now it’s leading to some real trouble. Last week at one of the country’s most prestigious prep schools, Boston Latin, students starting emailing local news outlets claiming there were vampires at the school, according a Huffington Post story. Apparently, a student was bitten and this set off the undead alarms. Police stopped by the school and calmed things down, the story said. The headmaster even sent a note to parents reassuring them the tony
high school doesn’t admit vampires.

But do you want to know my insider’s take as a frontline member of the only news organization dedicated to exposing vampires? Well, I’ll tell you. A bite is very concerning. Look, teenagers don’t bite. Toddlers
and puppies do. Why would a teenager just randomly have a bite? Plus, teenagers are known are known for pulling all-nighters without any type of caffeinated assistance. Why? They don’t need sleep anyway. You know what I’m talking about.

Yours in Vampire Preparedness,

Chris

P.S.: As always I welcome any and all news tips at bloodcastnewsnetwork@gmail.com.
